Brickpoint is one of Canada's oldest needlepoint shops, first established in the 1960's by Shirley Brickenden, her daughter Pamela, and Helen Boulton. Shirley is a watercolour artist and began to paint on canvas for the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. She also designed and painted the Kneelers for Christchurch Cathedral in Montreal. So great was the demand in those early days that within a few years, handpainted needlepoint canvases were bought and sold throughout North America.
We are proud to continue our services on line, offering our customers a wide range of needlepoint canvases including custom designs and beautiful kits and/or canvases. The collection shown are some of our best sellers, all of the finest quality, hand painted or printed. Both are a delight to stitch with your choice of wool or cotton.
One can produce pieces of Art Needlework which can be used in home furnishings such as pillows, chair seats, footstool covers, piano benches, bricks used as door stops, christmas stockings, ornaments and so on. Let us create a wonderful heirloom needlework that can be cherished for many years to come.
It will be our great pleasure to serve you as well in future as we have done over the past FIFTY YEARS. Please feel free to contact us with any questions, we hope to keep the love of needlework alive for everyone to enjoy!
